I recently added a calcium reactor to my tank, before this my pH was between 7.7 and 7.9. Now my ph maxes out at 7.8. this is with my skimmer drawing outside air. I have an oxygen bottle, can this be used with a solenoid, controller, and airstone to raise pH? will it even raise it, or do I need to remove co2?

Oxygen does not affect pH, like you mentioned you'd need to remove CO2 to lower pH. If you search the forums for "co2 scrubber" you'll find lots of posts.

I've also seen people run the calcium reactor effluent into an algae-filled refugium area, in the hopes that the algae will uptake CO2 and increase the pH before it hits the display tank, but the reactor effluent can be awfully acidic so I am not sure how well the algae tolerates that.
