Stainless steel

hi,going to say no,only certain high grade ss is safe in saltwater, poss try something plastic :)

Thanks. I’ll keep looking for really fine plastic tea strainer. My idea is to use a baby milk powder container, cut a hole in the lid and glue the tea strainer to the inside of the lid. The container is see through so I’d know when it’s time to replace the shrimp.

How about for short term use like a stainless steel brush? I use one occasionally to remove polyps off my rock.
I'm sure that's fine, but I will confirm stainless steel will rust in saltwater. The only metal I've found safe is 100% Titanium.

If you’re using it and then rinsing it off and drying it right away then I don’t think you’ll have a problem. The rust occurs when it’s allowed to stay wet for a while and start corroding

Bodum has a glass tea cup with a plastic strainer. I don't see that they offer them separately, so you're looking at ~$15 and then pulling apart half of it. You'd still have a nice glass cup though!
