Just curious if anyone (using a Brute trash can) for your RO/DI water storage has ever noticed a stale smell? Ive had the can for months. I washed it out when I bought it. Nothing has ever been used in it other than the clean water. Kinda wondering if it may become an issue?
Thanks
Jason

Following a long. I have the same issue. My guess it because the water is just sitting and not moving so no oxygen is getting pumped into it as it would in a salt mixing container.

Well maybe I'll try keeping a small pump running. See if i notice a change.

I know what you are talking about. Also, a bit of clear slime develops. It is not airtight. Wiping the container down after using the water removes both. I even use vinegar every 6 months and then rinse with some ro/di I took out then let it dry before I use it again. Water movement helps as well.

When I had a larger tank I'd keep a 55g Brute full of RO/DI water. I had it for about 5 years and I may have cleaned it out a couple times a year with a towel when it was empty. I just kept the lid tight and re-filled it once it was getting empty. Don't remember any smells and I never had any algae growth inside it. No pumps or heater in it either. It just "sat" there.

Well I appreciate the input!
Thank you
