I guess that's what you call them...

Anyways, most of the zoas I've gotten, their stalks have lengthened a lot. How do you guys keep them growing so close to the rocks without them sprouting up?

I've got a AGA 75 gallon (48x18x20), (2) 175W 10K Hamiltons, (2) 65W Actinics.

I'll have to double check to see what powerheads I have in there for water movement. I don't remember the names, but I know there are 3. :D

I'll post the before and after pics here in a bit... I have to find them.

Yea... now that you mention it. I've got some reds and greens about half way up and they're "normal" looking.

Thanks.

I'll see what I can do to move them up.

Thanks for the info.

I have quite a few palys that no matter where I pout them they have a little bit of tall stolens(stalks). None of the zoanthids do.......I would try and move them up slowly and see what happens.

Here's a pic...

I just moved them today... how long do you reckon it will take to notice a difference?

no offense, but it looks like something is munching on them

Not sure about being munched on but some of them do look kinda stressed a bit. I know when my larger zoas and palys have the domed look they are under a bit of stress of some sort, although it usually happens after I touch the open polyp.....

They were in the bottom 1/4 of the tank close to a frogspawn.

mine "stretch" quite often too... i think it's more related to flow but who knows?

the frogspawn may have annoyed your zoos, they dont seem as aggressive as hammers, which i think would have done some major damage had it touched too often.
