Stand alone ph monitor

Is there a reliable stand alone ph monitor that you would recommend? The ones I’ve seen have very mixed reviews.

If you just want to know every once in a while, then a cheap pH pen from Amazon work pretty well. Rinse them off with tap water after use and stuff. They are less than $20, usually.

I'll respectfully disagree with this. If we were talking about TDS meters - then yes - they are robust, durable, and accurate, even at a low cost.

That's not what we've seen with pH meters. Economy meters are not worth their low cost is what we've seen, if accuracy means anything to you. This is the one we've selected as a best case balance between price and performance:

I’ve used the WEIPRO for knocking on 20 years. If you get the cheap version (with 1 point calibration), you just need to take the case off, drill a hole where the two point calibration port is, on the expensive one. All the gubbings is inside. Basically they charge £100 more for a less restrictive casing. Voila, a two point calibration pH meter.
