Stand and Glass Not Aligned

I just received my Waterbox 20 Cube and stand today from Premium Aquatics, and I have a question regarding the setup.

Attached are a couple of photos that show the alignment of the stand and the glass. Is the gap in the front normal? I don’t want to add water because it seems concerning to me that the front of the glass isn’t fully supported.

The front doors won't be supporting any weight to begin with, probably within spec for alignment tolerance. Redsea tanks have the same profile overhang on the front.

I understand that the door won’t be supporting the glass, but it seems weird that the top, where the glass does sit, doesn’t fully support it. The glass overhangs by 3/4 inch.

Every Redsea reefer is like that. * It's the only way to get seamless doors which is part of the allure of the tank look.

I wouldn't trust that at all, thats a whole panel not being supported. @Waterbox Aquariums any insight here?

There's a possibility I'm wrong as I don't own a RSR, but I have seen them both at the LFS and privately and they all have a slight over-hang under the front lip of the tank like that. Agree with crabs that WB should be chiming in on this to ultimately answer it.

This is normal on all the red sea reefer tanks. The front glass pane is not supported at all.

Is there a reason for it? That would make me a nervous nelly not having a whole side of the tank supported.

Your front glass pane is not supported by anything on the under side, it is supported by the silicone.

Guarantee there is more pressure pushing out on the glass, then pushing the glass down

Yea just got my reefer 750 and it overhangs a bit but mainly because the glass is so thick .

I think all the Waterbox stands are like this, my 40.1 certainly is.

Having taken siliconed panes apart before manually, I don’t see it failing from a 3/4 overhang. With that said, I don’t like their design. They could have made a recessed door and kept it seamless instead of that preposterous overhang.

I’ve never owned a rimless tank, so couldn’t say first hand. But imo the water pressure pushes out, as mentioned above. I’m sure it is perfectly safe.

I have a Red Sea tank and the front pane of glass overhangs and is flush with the door. But what bothers me about that waterbox picture is that the bottom pane overhangs as well. Is that how the smaller Red Sea tanks are too? With my larger Red Sea 625, the entire bottom pane is supported. The front glass is extra thick and about the same thickness as the doors, and therefore flush.

This is my 40.1 Waterbox (18"x18"x18")
It's been setup for a couple of months now so your 20g cube should be okay to setup. I'm guessing this is how Waterbox intended since the attached underside neoprene cushion is cut shorter then the full bottom pane.

Thanks for the photo! The difference for me is that the leveling mat also overhangs the stand.

It may be difficult to see in the photos, but here are a couple that attempt to show that.
