Here are some pictures of my new stand build for my drilled 40g breeder. I wanted to accomplish two things here. One was to get the tank higher in the air and two was to create an easier area to work underneath. I have all my electric in the top with a switch for the 6000k work light as well as a switch that operates just one receptacle which will have my power heads plugged in it, I turn them off when I feed. I haven't trimmed it yet but I am going to try and get the tank on it today and up and running. I will keep this updated. I included a picture of what I have now. As you'll see space is tight. Have a great day and happy reefing.

Stand looks like it's well-built. I think you could have gone with a DJ 8 switch and avoided the wiring/outlets.

Every bit of it. I go in to the GFCI first and then out to the other outlets and light.

Good question. I'm going to do half inch hard word plywood which has a really nice finish. Then I'm going to make my trim for it with the router. It will have two doors on the front and one door on each side.

It's back up and running. Just need to power up the protien skimmer. So far I'm really happy with it.

Looks awesome !!!! (And seriously jealous.). Now I've got some plans to draw up, lol.

Thank you. This is the best part for me I think. I enjoy whats under the tank just ss much as whats in it. Lol. I do really like this set up though.

Here are some better pictures.

I put sides on the stand and changed the filter a bit. 1 by 8 Sides which I like a lot. I will be changing out to oak and will update on the looks. I also have what I think is a good idea for my door that I can't wait to try and show. Any thoughts on the filter would be great. I will be raising the water level soon and adding macro. Happy reefing.

looks good!!! but........ I hate to burst your bubble... if you read the GFI install it will only protect two outlets after it...... so you would need one GFI for every two boxes wired.......

The amount of receptacles connected to a gfci is determined by the wattage connected to those receptacles. In a kitchen they say only 2 per because they are allowing for 1000 watts connected at each. When you figure for outside receptacles you can put much more because you figure it at 300 watts connected to each. In this application I doubt he will have 1000 ways connected to each protected by the gfci. The only problem too much wattage will cause is nuisance trips. Again, I highly doubt this will be a problem here.

ahh thanks makes scence!!! :) this I did not know.... was just thinking of the box n what told.....
