Does anyone have suggestion/plans for a steel stand. I have a welder but i wanted to confirm what he is saying and do the stand right. My tank is 180 G 72"X24"X24". Any ideas would be helpful

Confirm what who Is saying what? The welder guy? What is he saying? There are a bunch of stand builds on here BTW.

My welder wanted to use angle iron. i want to use tube so it will look nicer. don't know which size of square tube to use. don't want to go too thick, so i can save some cash. What are most steal stands made of

I am building a stand for the same tank right now. I am using 1-1/2”X3”x0.120” (11guage) for the top portion of the stand that the tank will rest on. I’m using 1-1/2” 0.120 (11 gauge) for the legs and the base for the bottom where the sump will sit

I bought these to level it as well as the weld in threaded inserts to weld into the legs.

angle iron will twist under load where box tubing will not...only thing going for angle is you can keep an eye on it and repaint any rusted areas ....box tubing could be rusting away inside and you'd never know it

thanks for all your suggestions. decided to powder coat as well to minimize rust
