Stand ideas for a 65g with 40b sump? Is it possible?

All, I have a 40b currently with a 29g sump that I want to take up to a 65g and try to get the 40b under there as a sump. Here is the problem, the 65 and 40 are the same footprint. Is it possible to design a stand that can hold them both? How would I do this? Thanks in advance.

Build the following frame out of 2 x 4’s all the way around so that a 40B will fit through the front opening. The 65 with sit on a piece of ¾ plywood, with a little shelf in the front and along the sides of the tank. Skin this frame with whatever you wish…..1/4 ply, beadboard, etc.

I build the 40b stand similar to this but was not sure about the weight of the tank not being fully supported by the upper frame versus using a sheet of plywood. Makes sense, that as long as the weight is spread out and the supporting wood is strong enough there should be no problems.

Using this design the 40 will not fit. The bottom frame has 2x4s on it taking up space (purple), where the top frame is open all around giving you precisely a 36x18 footprint.
The bottom frame max available footprint is only 27x18 (if using 2x4s).

I just built this stand design design for my 75g and a 55g will not fit under it because of the 2x4s attached to the end pieces of the bottom frame. The lengths of 75g and 55g are the same. I will have to go with a 40g sump.

should work out for ya as long as you dont make the stand the same footprint as the tanks...
