Hey guys. Need some advise. I have a carpenter making my stand next week for my 93g cube buy I'm nervous. I know hardwood is wayyyy stronger than most stands out there but is their a specific way it should be built? He mentioned doubling up on wood to make it 1.5inch thick all around. Its not just the wall thickness but braces and technique. Any advise on how it should be made?

I've done that in the past but a solid hardwood stand just looks way nicer and for the price including materials, I can't pass it up

Ive made most of my own stands. I always just build the frame , and skin it in whatever wood I want to use. I stain and polyurethane the out side and completely waterproof the inside. A 93 gallon isn't too big and any decent carpenter should be able to make a good stand that will hold the weight, I always factor in the weight of the tank full and add additional weight for safety.

A 93 cube should be a cool tank! Good luck with the build.
