Stand ok?

I over engineered my stand for my 20g nuvo out of 2x4s. I covered it in MDF and I thought about wrapping it in somthing else as I hate the MDF. I found a bathroom vanity for a good price and already looks good. It should be plenty strong enough? I'd add a top and add L brackets to each side to tie it all in. I don't really like the plastic corner brackets but I think they should still be ok. What do u all think?

hi, i would add corner brackets ,upper and lower ,all 4 corners...
