I have had a leak from one of the corners of my sump and I need to replace it. The problem is that I have an old, very well established, AllGlass 120 gallon 48 inch tank with the simulated oak stand (looks like it was made from oak 6x1's). It has two doors with a center support and I need to remove the center support that the two doors close on. How much of the weight does this center beam support? Would I be able to place 2x4 supports under the outside edge along the outside of the door opening for a short period, place the sump in, and then replace the center beam?

Not enough information. Simply put, two 1 x 6 solid oak boards (on edge), would be able to support 1000 pounds (the approximate weight of the tank) over a four foot length if all structural components are present. Need to see pictures or drawing of the actual stand.
