75 gallon tank. 22” tall. Using an old TV stand with some extra support in the back as it is not wide enough. Is this a recipe for disaster? Pics are attached.

hi,long as level,looks good to me... :)

In your pic you have about 700lbs loaded on that desk. Smthg it was not designed for. Obviously working, but longterm on stress point? Who knows, that piece of furniture was not designed for that amount of weight if swayed left or right. Straight down, probably ok. I'd be more concerned in a year from now the desk gets bumped and the desk collapses falling to the left or right like a domino

Seems more solid than some manfactured stands on the market

I can see the stand giving in on the left side if the pic on top, would be the right side of the aquarium if looking from behind.

Recipe for disaster for sure.

Is it solid wood or particle board? The former seems fine, the latter i would not trust.

75 gallons is a lot of water on the floor, as a friendly reminder.... if that's carpet, saltwater would make it toast.

If you use it, watch it over time, the next few months.... use a level to monitor, look for bowing. If any be prepared to switch out rather quickly.

I would guess you're fine. The things I called stands decades ago never çollapsed from àny tanks or earthquakes.
