With all the automated testers coming out I'd like to see one where the user pulls the sample. This would allow the device to be used on multiple tanks and possibly reduce cost.

The GHL Ion Director you need a doser, Neptune Trident you need an Apex and the Xepata aBex you need and autoBalance.

I just want something I can pour a sample into and have it tell me what Alkalinity, Calcium, Magnesium, Nitrate and Phosphate are.

What are everyone else's thoughts?

I mean - isn't the reefbot standalone?
I'm not sure.

Could you have it setup on your workbench and bring a sample to run through it vice having it draw directly from the tank? I'd assume it's possible. You would just need to know how much sample water is needed.

I would like to see more positive reviews on the device. It also seams like it's more work than the others, reagent and tuning wise.

Yes you can do this with a reefbot. In fact at the last MACNA they showed off a model for stores that would allow customers bring in to the store for testing.

Anymore info on that?

I suppose if I was curious I'd google for Reefbot and then click the link that looked like:

I was browsing for a few minutes while on break at my 12 hour shift, didn’t quite have time for a google search at that time and I didn’t want to forget about the product. So, I left a quick reply knowing I would get a notification when I logged on after work when someone had commented at all on this post thus reminding me to google for info.

I'd have to image the store version is fairly expensive.

Could it be done with the regular model?

Another concern I was reading about with the Reefbot is the amount of water required for the samples. But that could be overcome by having fresh saltwater on hand to top off with.

The big model is for a store to use.
but the standard model can be used as a stand alone unit too.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
