When I started my tank back in April I was intent on using a Kessil A360 and that was that, I didn't do much research, since I have changed almost everything from my original design mostly because of the practical experience I have had in the last 7 months.
Right now I'm using a $70 LED Aqueon light on a $5 Christmas light timer, and it's just not getting the job done, when I run the daytime light for 12hrs a day my one Candy cane coral frag Thrives, and so do the diatoms, as soon as i cut the light time back, the diatoms fade away and so does my 1 lonely coral frag.
It seems to me I need more intense light for fewer hours a day.
Keeping in mind, I basically budgeted in the cost of a Kessil A360 and a Kessil controller (aprox $300-400) are there any other Light/controler options or Light with programming built in that would be better suited for my very rectangular old school 29G tank
thanks for your time
