I have this stanpipe I just put in my overflow and when I went and cut the power to test everything out a problem has arised, when the power comes back on the stanpipe does not drain fast enough and the water in the tank keeps climbing. If i don't pick the standpipe up out of the bulkhead the water just keeps clombing in the aquarium. any ideas on what might be wrong

Is the airline completely open and unrestricted? That would be my best guess, its not getting enough air mixture.

yeah its unrestricted it must be getting some kind of air lock after the power goes out but I don't know how to keep it from doing so, after you get it draining right it works fine, i'm just worried there will be a power outage and when it comes back on its going to overflow the tank

yeah the hose is several inches at least into the sump. I just need to cut the hose so that its just about an inch below the water line?

I just cut some off and I think that did the trick It still fills up more than I want it to in the but then it breaks the air lock or something and starts to drain right. Thnaks for the tip
