Stanky auto topoff bucket

Just put another gallon of distilled water in my auto topoff bucket and noticed an odor. I didn't have time to clean it cause I'm getting ready for work but I was wondering if I threw a carbon bag in the bucket would it keep the water odorless? I realize an airtight bucket helps too but I have it tight is it's gonna get.

If you use pure RODI water it should stink.
Even after a while you should be fine.

I checked out the rodi filter option and didn't like how much water it wastes so went with the ecological option of using distilled water. I'll check out the tds levels in my auto topoff bucket though, once I get my hands on that test kit.
