I have had a lovely rock full of green star polyp for years that I grew from a frag. I have never had any trouble with it. Over the last several months it is disappearing and not showing itself. It's a 14 gal mini cube with only two clowns, hermit crabs, emerald crab, hammer polyp in good shape and the star. I change water with Pacific salt water every three weeks.

Recently I did notice an apstasia, but I killed it asap. I have also noticed the small- starfish seen here in this picture, which I am suspect of. Any ideas?? I hate to see this star go away....

Thanks!

I can’t imagine the starfish is a problem. I’m wondering if the emerald crab finds your coral tasty.

Has your flow changed? I moved my wave makers and mine closed up. I am trying to find a new place where it will be happy again.

Hmmm. Maybe so, but they've been in there a bit. I haven't really even seen them in a while......Thanks for responding!

My GSP is almost bulletproof. I had a rock flowers anemone take up residence in the middle of my colony for about a month and it barely flinched.

Water parameters? I'd suspect something there.
I checked and everything seemed normal. I use that Pacific Water-boxed, and it's always been a no-brainer. Seems to work itself. I do have a bit of red bubble algae....One strange thing is I did have a single apstasia (spelling?) show up a few days ago, but I squirted that killer into it and it's gone. The weird thing is, I haven't added anything new....so where did that come from? Thanks for responding!!!

I did actually, but only after they started folding up. Hmmm. Thanks!!!
