star polyp help

This has been in my tank a few months and has growing and doing well. But recently they stopped coming out during the day and now all together. Temps stay at about 79.5. Ammo, nitri, nitrate all 0.

The tank did spike in ammonia to 1 and phosphate to 1 when I tried to treat for ick with rally. But got it right back down.

Does it get a decent flow. Mine stopped comin out. Started to recede. I pulled it in half and fooled with placement. Same height and more flow brought it out. So I move the original to a spot with more flow. A different spot. And it came back. Just my experience

Flow has been the same but recently I have learned I do not have enough flow. Plan on looking at some pumps this weekend at the MACNA show

Gotta put up your nitrate and phosphate numbers. But at 1 on the phosphate table, thats freakin high.

GSP's are a wonderful coral for water chemistry and heavy metals.
I use them as my indicator coral.
There was a chemistry change to your water which these guys do not like.
They let me know when to stop playing with the water and hold up on water changes.

Ive also noticed that mine tend to do this when they are getting ready for a big growth spurt. However..mine also tend to sulk if there is any change at all..be it lighting...flow...water params. We call her Miss Thing due to her tendency to throw fits and close up.
