Starboard Lessons Learned

I'm about to add my starboard into my new BB tank build. Can anyone provide suggestions or lessons learned on their starboard BB?

For example, my last BB tank I did not glue it down and got junk underneath so this time I want to glue it down.

by the way have yougone to World Wide Corals? thats pretty much all they use. They told me you can get it from any boat supply place and it cuts simular to acrylic.

If I'm remembering correctly, I believe the guys at WWC installed two sheets of starboard in their new 630 gallong aquarium, page 23 of their thread. They glued the first piece down to the tank bottom, then the second to the first, and when all was said and done, they went around the edges with silicone to seal the starboard. It was mentioned that this is what they do for all their tanks, not sure about the double layering but I'm sure on the rest. Hope this helps!

Just my board today, 72" x 22.5" section cut into 3 sections, I got the 1/2" thick board. Cost me $78 can't beat that!!!

FYI - I siliconed my starboard down and after a couple of weeks noticed it started peeling up. Maybe I got too thin of starboard but this was just my experience. I never experienced the warping on thicker pieces I've had in the past. I'm just glad it did this before water was in the tank.

Should I get the 1" thick or your thick ill be ok in the 250g

I think you may be ok with 3/8" or 1/2". I'm doing a shallow build so I went super thin...I think 1/8" or 1/4"...FAIL.

In my old 90g system I didn't glue it down, some stuff got under it but it wasn't a problem. I believe it was 1/2". The tank was very successful while it was operating.
