If any of you use starboard on your bare bottom tanks could you help me out? Do you use silicon to keep it from floating? I'm going to use it for a 17 gallon ADA build but honestly I don't really want to glue down the starboard. Would rocks on top be enough to keep it from floating? My main 60 gallon tank is bare bottom but I don't use starboard. Thanks

Rock will hold it down but eventually a lot of detritus will go under the starboard and thats not good. So, seal it with silicon not only on sides but also under the starboard.

You will acquire a ton of detritus under the board over time. I just threw a piece in my 180 once without siliconing it down. Huge mistake. Highly recommend getting a solid silicone like RTV-108(or 103 which is clear I believe) and gluing the bottom first, then tape off the sides and back, place a bead around the edges and back, then pull the tape.

How much leeway should I give when ordered the starboard? The tank is rectangular and the measurements for length and width are 23 inches by 11.25 inches.
