So I was thinking about getting a orange starfish for my reef I already have a brittlestar will they share or kill? Also I have LEDs by true luma but i want to add T5's to it will it add more heat? will runing T5's and LEDs help or just add more heat? the tank is a 55 gallon reef with a R-100 eshoppes refugium. No chiller,

T5s will add some heat to the system, but your not talking about alot.
As far as the Sea Star, it would all depend on what type of Brittlestar you currently have, some of them are a bit on the mean side.

Hard to say, if you have them just sitting above the tank, you won't notice anything, if its in a canopy, maybe a degree is all you'll see from them. They aren't like running halides. But if you could get a couple cooling fans in a canopy with the T5s, you won't notice anything at all.

Trapping heat and gassess. If you don't have any jumping fish, I'd recommend removing those lids.
