Starfish behavior

Hi All,
I recently got a starfish and left in my aquarium. As soon as i leave, it buried itself in sand and i did not am not seeing at all. Is it normal behavior ?
Also i see one of my hermit crab was dead, so is it due to starfish attack ?

Depends on what type of starfish you bought. If it's a sand-sifting starfish, then it's very normal for it to bury itself in the sand.

Was the hermit crab's shell found empty (and the hermit crab nowhere to be seen)? Or was it full and the crab was dead and not just all holed up in its shell?
