Hey again reefers. I need some critter Idlease.

I added a good amount of corals about 3 weeks ago and dip all corals, but it appears I have a few hitchers.

* 1^) I have a hitchhiker that I thought was a bristle work popping his head out. It’s a white/clear skinny little guy , waves back in fourth like a worm, and I usually only see them when wave maker is on. There is 3 so far I have found.

* 2) I have a good size coral rock that my zoas are on, I was checking out growth of them up close and I noticed a little starfish shaped critter. I have no idea If it is a starfish and if it’s a good guy or a evil villain to take out some zoas or corals I got.

**** Reminder: I know the scolly is bleached , currently working on bringing him back to life.

well thanks for taking a look at my crappy iPhone pictures , and any advice on if they some good reef safe buggers or if I need to 86 them out the DT.

Starfish looka like Asterina. Unfortunately they are extremely difficult to tell the good ones and bad ones apart. But if you think it might be interested in munching your coral, or suspect it has, or just want to be safe; pluck him from the tank and toss him in the trash.

Can't tell what the first one is.

First one looks like a tiny tube worm to me. Common and harmless.

Star is definitely an asterina. If you have one, you have more than one. If you wind up with an infestation of these, add a Harlequin shrimp (or bongo shrimp) to your tank and they will vanish.

ok ok that’s what I was hoping for , some kind of reef safe filter feeder... I’ll leave him to do his thing and wave around

ahhh thank you for another answer I need! If the critter is a problem, I would like to know if I can eradicate the pest before it comes a problem..

I haven’t seen anymore, and so far my corals are all in good shape , zoas doing fine. I’ll have to look into where I can buy those shrimps at in case needed.

Thank you all

2pic Asterina.
1 pic hard to tell.
