Hopefully, this isn't a stupid question.
I recently acquired what I was told was a color tip Linckia (Multifora?) Starfish. He arrived looking a little stressed and very tiny. In just a couple of weeks, he seems to have already grown and he looks much healthier than he did when he arrived. (Although, he is still small).
My question....
I know it sounds crazy, but everyone in the house swears he arrived here with only five arms. He went into hiding a few days ago and reappeared today. After looking at a pic taken a few days after he arrived, it looks like he had six arms (one very wide arm)
Has anyone seen a Linckia Star with seven arms? Is it possible one arm split? Is he a different species or just a weird mutant Linckia? (in which case we will have to change his name from the very original "Patrick" to an X-Man name)
I know different species can have more than five arms, but I can't seem to find anything online regarding a Linckia with seven arms. Thank you!!
