Hey yall, I bought this as a ‘sand sifting star’ but it’s never in the sand?! It’s often on my glass, can anyone ID him for me? Thanks!!!

I think I may have been looking at one of these guys on kpaquatics... Could be a common starfish?
 
Yalls guess is as good as mine. Bought it in Florida, guy said that some local divers brought it in with some fish they caught and he didn’t know what it was so I got it for really cheap

Yeah I think the ones from KPAquatics say they're from Florida and they're like $10 bucks.

Do these fare well in home aquaria?
 
According to the description if they are handled correctly they can live a long time, but may go after some clams and such.
0.0 mine hasn’t yet. I’ve got a really nice blue maxima. I feed him some algae pellets and mysis shrimp whenever I can find him, probably 3x a week
