This is a brand new coral to my tank, and I noticed this guy sneaking out of a pocket in the bubble coral. Curious if anyone thought this was ok?

Does anyone think this starfish living in this bubble coral is a problem? This is my first coral in my aquarium and I am not educated enough to to know if it is bad. I just noticed it about 3 days after buying it.

Starfishes are a pretty common hitchhiker, they usually just add in addition to your clean up crew, but I have heard of asterina star fishes eating coral. That does not look like an asterina. You should dip your corals before you put them in your tank to prevent pest.

I have use revive, iodine, and bayers (depending on the coral) to prevent pest.

Great info. I'll keep, that in mind next time.thanks for responding.
