Starfish looking critter

Hi,
I just cleaned the aquarium glass and within hours I see these white dots, like arms sticking out from the center. To the naked eye, it looks like a white dot like ich on a fish. Does anyone know what these are? They are also flying around the tank. The image is a macro shot to see the arms.

It’s looks like a hydroid to me. They’re common in newer tanks and will usually go away on their own.
