I've got something in my love rock that looks like some kind of starfish within the rock. It has an active feeding response with it's long tentacle arms. Any guesses what it is?

Thanks!

I can’t see the vids, could you upload a pic?
Your description sounds like a brittle star though. They are very common hitchhikers and make for a good part of the cuc (and one of the easiest echinoderms to keep).

I don't think they're brittle stars. It's like they're in the rock with their mouth facing out

I don't know what it is, but I do agree it doesn't look like any brittle star I've seen - it looks like it might be some kind of filter feeding worm to me, but I'm definitely not an expert on worms.

Also, I love the barnacles in that second video - I think they add a lot of character to the tank.

Thank you! And couldn't agree more about the barnacles. I went with Tamba Bay Saltwater love rock and absolutely love it. The biodiversity is just incredible!

Maybe a medusa worm? Does not look exactly the same but it's worth a thought.

What happens if you touch them? Do they move? It looks kind of cool.
