I got this blue linckia star about two weeks now, and he seemed to be doing fine, but now he has been tucked into this rock for the 2nd day in a row now. I would not be to worried about it but I noticed that he is grabbing on to the rock anymore. Does anybody know if that means he is dead?

They will fall apart when they are dead and smell rotten

Are you feeding him? The biggest problem I've seen with starfish is that they end up starving. Most are meat eaters and very much enjoy a good portion of a clam. Try feeding a good portion of a clam to this guy and see if he takes it.

The issue with this guy is that he is always tucked into the rock somewhere out of reach, so I am not able to feed him.

Using forceps, put that clam part close to him and he'll "smell" it and move to grab it. If he doesn't start to move, that's a bad sign.
