Can anyone tell me what could have been happening with this Star ? (Other than death!)

Unfortunately that one looks like a goner, linkia starfish can be very hard to keep. It looks like he has ejected his innards for some reason. Typically the biggest problem with adding a starfish to your aquarium is the acclimation. We have had the most success with a very slow drip acclimation of 1-2 hours. It is also important to only add these specimens to larger (50g+) established (6mo or older) tanks.

OH he did croak ! Thought that was his guts! My fault, didn't do a good job at acclimation . Learn by my mistakes. Thanks for the help!
