Found this little guy on a plug. Is he a threat to coral or anything?

hi,not too many over size of dime, mutiply fast ,remove as you see them to keep under control :)

How much bigger do they get? This was like the size of a pencil eraser
One of the SP in my system look very close to your one (exist hundreds of different coloration and many SPs), but the bigger one is no more than 2 pencil erasers heads together. And it multiply rapidly mainly if you have much leftover food, and detritus. if that's under control you won't get many of them :)

I think there's been 2 on my rock since I started the tank now that I think about it, I thought it was just some type of blue coralline. They don't move much and I've only ever saw those 2.

If you have one you probably have more :) I keep them around cause I think they’re cute and I know for sure mine don’t bother the corals

You will probably see more a bit after lights out … seems like that's when they come out scavenging for food.
you are right, and the most predator asterina are popping out when is dark. in my system they aren't afraid to come all the day long, and aren't hiding that much where there is free food :)

I do pluck a few out from time to time … as I have a tendency to overfeed my fishy friends … from time to time  … and if I haven't cleaned the glass in a few days I can see the trails they leave behind in the morning … so I can appreciate a small population of them in the tank.

Which mean they are doing good job for you in your system, and mainly after you "see the trails they leave behind" can show you and in what condition is the glass  , something I do use that look, to determine in what condition is mine, and if there aren't enough on the glass to give me enough cleaning, I do the job, but the glass now I haven't clean it for about 2.5 months, before it was for shorter time more dirty, now isn't bad at all, got huge population colonista snails. Now if you have much enough and good CUC, they can keep all dirt in touch and take care of ;)

Nope I watch my tank at night alot. Never seen them. The plug i had it come from wasnt in my tank that came out after dip

I could be wrong though and maybe they're something else. I will post a video of what I see in my tank. That star came off a plug that I just got after dipping it. It wasn't from my tank

They cannot be trusted as i had some eat more than one of my zoa colonies . They’re like roaches- when you think they’re gone- they reappear in numbers

I got a good look and can see i do have 3. I will keep an eye out ty 4 info

I liked them until I started collecting more colorful Zoanthids... then I would find one on the top of each zoo head at night. I can only assume they were trying to consume them (bad). of course any ugly zoos were left alone - my starfish have good taste (watch them.. they come at night)...
