Beautiful fish. I’ve got to admit I’ve never seen so much desire for a damsel. Is this one not so mean? How’s it compare to a yellow belly (aka kupang or azure)

regular LA (non-DD) had some in.. I hovered on the page, thought I didn't need to risk the aggressiveness, then thought what's life without some risks, refreshed and they were gone. A great outcome!

I hopped on those right away as soon as i got their in-stock notification.

I’ve kept Starki before and they are on the aggressive end for chrysiptera damsels, larger too. One will be my final damsel for the current tank.

My starki damsels were fairly mild mannered and only held grudges against fish who started crap fist. My first one years ago hated my jaw fish because the jawfish kept trying to steal the dsmsels cave. My current one has beef with a orchid dotty but nothing too serious that anyone gets injured. They never bothered the clowns or even firefish and mostly just flare and try and look tough.

Managed to catch a good photo tonight. Hope you find one soon, these fish are gorgeous!

I really mean it this time, for sure, honest, absolutely. I'm attending Fish Buyers Anonymous meetings and taking pills.

Say it ain't so ca1ore!....I always learned from your fish posts! You gave me the info and encouragement to get my pyramid butterflies though QT a few years ago on the other forum

It aint so... I would wager on it!

Oh dear, I pride myself on not being self delusional - how about 'it is my intention for the starki to be my final fish, well until something dies or I see something REALLY cool'. Yeah, that's my story …...

That I believe, until concept becomes reality at least.

The last starki I had was a pain in my neck. I had it in a tank with large angels. It made it’s home under a shell in the front of the tank. Every time a large angel swam by it would nip at their fins. They often turned and chased the starki but it would quickly take cover in a shell. I finally removed it from the tank and put it in an unused 10 gallon QT. Weeks went by and I forgot all about it. When I finally remembered I couldn’t find him so I figured it was dead. I shut down the tank drained all but maybe an inch of water. A week later I saw it swimming in the little water remaining. I netted it out and gave it to my LFS. That was one tough fish.
