Ok guys,

I bought this tank last week:
Lee Mar 120

Went to pick it up and it was a bit dirty, no big deal it's used. Got it home and cleaned it out, and after taking a closer look at it I am having some concerns wether or not this is a Starphire/"Low Iron Tank" as he called it. Here are some pictures of the edges and a shot of the tank. I'd like to hear what you guys think, is it the real deal or was I misled?

Doesn't look like star fire to me

When you look at star fire glass on edge. It is clear

When I look at my tank which is starphire glass, the edge has a faint blue tint. The regular glass is more of a green tint.

Is it possible it can still be "low-iron" vs starphire. Or is it exactly the same?

I know there are some companies that use a generic low iron. I had a Glasscages low iron tank.
When I planned out my new 233 gallon tank, the word "Starphire Glass" was used, so I doubt that they would use anything but Starphire.

I think it could be, look down the edge of the longer piece of glass, if you can see out the other side pretty easily it's starphire, you you can't see very far at all and it's super-green then it's regular glass.

The guy had listed it as "low-iron". I just want to get my stuff straight before I call him out on it.

On your glass cages tank, is there a difference between the look of the generic vs the starphire?

Have some sunlight to help you look. You should see a good deal of blueish color as you are looking at the edges of the tank. Sunlight will help you see it much better than artificial lighting. That's my experience anyway.

The Glasscages tank I had is gone to a new owner, but when I first got it, it did seem much clearer than previous big tanks.

Agree, my Leemar is starfire, the edge looks blue, not green.
Hard to say for certain from your pics, but it does kinda look like star to me, and given it is a Leemar I would lean that it is.
Starfire is basically a brand name, others use the same or similar low iron glass which should have the same clarity.

From my understanding Starphire is a trademarked name for low iron glass. Marineland does not use the name Starphire on their higher end tanks, they call it low iron. So Starphire and Low Iron aquarium glass are one in the same. Here is a pic to help you figure it out more.

Oh and just my 2 cents, your glass looks like the one on the left, so if I were doing a visual comparison I would say you do have a starphire/low iron tank

From the picture above from ETORRES, your edges don't look as dark as the regular glass. They look lighter like the star fire. I know the consensus is the opposite, but it could be the lighting of the photos you took.

I've got a Leemar Starphire and your tank is Starphire. It has the same tint that mine does. Mine is a blue tint, but it looks green at certain times of the day, I think it's the just the light or the camera making it look different.

When my Leemar came into the store, I saw it next to 3 other Leemar tanks that were non-starphire and the difference is pretty astonishing when there is no water in the box. It's much harder to tell the difference between the 2 when there is water in the tank.

Nope, I don't think that is Low Iron glass. I can see the glass picking up light, somewhat discoloring the image, as I look through your tank, to the outside.
