So I've had this starry blenny for over a year now. About 6 months ago he disappered and we assumed he must have jumped or died and the cuc took care of him... Well about a week ago I'm doing some tank maintenance and to my shock I see him at the top of the water level in the overflow picking at the walls!
I run over to my wife and tell her he's in the overflow and she freaks out (he was her favorite fish in the tank). So we drain the overflow and scoop him out, which was a total pain being that I have 2 drain lines and a return line that all come up through it and the return T's off at the top so can't fit my arm down in there. He's pretty skinny and must have had just enough algae in there to keep him alive.
Skip forward 24 hours and he's nowhere to be seen...turn off the return pump and shine my flashlight in the overflow and sure enough he's in there again...what the heck... So we painstakingly get him out again. 24 hours later he's in there again........WTFH!
My only theory is that he's climbing up the return locline and going in there on his own. Can't imagine he's jumping and getting lucky enough to land in the overflow and not on the floor. Anyone ever seen this kind of behavior before? I'm tempted to leave him in there at this point...
