Hi, I was wondering if this is the start of green hair algae, or just non-invasive algae, or something else. It has started showing up as I began introducing more light to my system. I plan on adding coral soon so I don't want 0 nutrients, my Nitrate is 10 (API) and my phosphate is now .1 (Hanna non-ULR).

Basic algae. Turn the lights off.

Watch this BRS on the 4 month extended cycle - not just nitrogen but rather the full microscopic cycle - since dry rock lacks the complex microscopic life that competes with the algae.

1. Before turning on lights add utilitarian fish (see video)
2. Add a heterotrophic bacteria like Vibrant of Microbacter Clean as a preemptive move
3. Turn on the lights after 4 months, add the clean up crew and small coraline covered rock or dose with ARC Purple Helix

IMO. if you take the time to focus on establishing the the microfauna, that will go a long way to keep the algae in check.

Also, when you add the clean up crew, consider pods and live phyto as part of your clean ip crew.
