Start up cycling question

So I have a question do I need to add Instant Ocean BIO-Spira Start up or sum other start up product to get the beneficial bacteria so I can cycle the tank, ones I get set up or do I just toss in a shrimp to the tank and I'm good to go? I have BRS pukani dry rock that been curing for over a month and Carib Sea Arag-Alive Live sand. Thanks

You don't need to add Spira but you can.
There are many options for cycling a tank and they pretty much all work

As @twilliard was stating there are a lot of methods to cycling a tank. One of the big methods is having patience.

A bacteria source needs to be added. Either add the biospira or add a shrimp and let it rot until it's dissolved. Biospira plus adding ammonia from ace hardware at 1ml per 10g is the quickest way to get started. Less smelly too.
