Set up our 60 gal. Nuvo SR60 tank with Fugi live sand and dry rock. Added 2 clown fish after cycling tank, about 6 hermit crabs, 4 snails and 9 coral frags. All looked good and healthy and tank chemistry continues to look good. Recently added a yellow tang and a blue hippo tang. The next day observed them both scratching on sand and rocks. Called the fish dealer and they advised us that due to stress they can be susceptible to ich from the tank and to soak their food(Mysis shrimp) with Selco Boost. Scratching seemed to almost stop, but has degun again. Can anyone offer suggestions about this?

What's your water parameters? You have a real young tank and it's rather small for even one tang. I'd suggest pulling them out. It's most likely brought on by stress and lack of biodiversity. I wouldn't add tangs so early. Let others chime in though that are more qualified. Good luck to you.

Yellow tang was one of the first fish I put in my tank after it's cycle, and my tank is smaller than yours. They are great for clean up. Always someone that will comment on tank size, but as long as you upgrade or take them out as they outgrow your tank you will not have a problem. Assuming you did not quarantine so hopefully ich isn't introduced to your tank or you'll need to address it immediately. Any spots on the fish?
