I started dosing acropower and I woke up to one of my acros rtn. Is this normal? I started at 5ml daily

Probably not related 5ml is a small amount but aminos are typically dosed once or twice a week. What size tank?

I started dosing it daily should I change it to 2 a week only

Not with aminos and a signal to check with reliable kits . . . . Phos, calcium, alk and also, any recent changes to water flow and/or lighting?
With any additive, start low and work your way up to full dosage but aminos generally support rather than hurt coral

The only thing that drastically dropped was nitrates. It was 8 and I checked it Friday and it was at 4. I do have a reef mat so that could be contributing to the drop in nitrates but would it cause the acro to rtn? Any advice on how to save it. I have some witch hazel

How old is the tank? How long have you had the acros? Tank parameters? This isn’t likely due to the acropowet
Tank is 3 years old and some acros are 2 years old. the one that is rtn is about 2 weeks old. I did put some f aptasia on some aiptasia nearby could that be why?

Pic is not quite clear but do you by chance have dinoflagellates?
If not, some possible causes and things to check is : Light shading, a change in salinity, temperature and salt mixes. Additionally, Elevated phosphate, light and even new light and elevated alkalinity levels will be a higher risk to coral. Other minor factors will be low Dissolved oxygen, new corals especially leathers (which emit a toxin known as Terpenes), false test kit readings and newly added rock can alter chemistry.

Here is another pic but i dont see dinos. Ive had them before in another tank so i know how they look.

Better pics and dont look that bad. I would reduce dosage amount and even consider an ICP test to assure some elements are not lacking or getting ahead of you.

I really don't see anything wrong here. Acros can RTN for unknown reasons but typically it involves some kind of parameters swing in the tank especially alk movement. You have a lot of frags that may be consuming alk, cal and magnesium along with trace elements. Have you done a recent ICP test or par checked the tank?

Not likely but you never know. Sometimes these things just RTN, you could send off an icp. If all others look fine I wouldn’t worry too much.

ok. yeah all the others look fine. ill try sending an icp

In my experience aminos wouldn't do this. I dose aminos daily and the corals are happy. How's your stability? Any sudden changes? Check your phosphates.
