What would be some good starter Acropora for someone to ease themselves into the addiction? I am thinking some of the easier ones to keep.

California Tort in my experience.
Its really hard to brown this coral out and it always looks good when not in perfect conditions.

red planet is pretty bullet proof. ive had one half stn from dino choking, just to regrow it back in a matter of weeks.

birdsnest is a great "trainer" coral on husbandry practices to retain other sps. i would highly recommend a frag to assist with keeping things stable.

just be prepared about losing the frag and what you can do to keep one healthy for longer than a couple weeks.

They can all be picky and bulletproof at the same time imo. I do agree with Russ265 though about Birdsnest being a good tester piece. But it's not because they're bulletproof like a lot of people think. It's because they are normally the first ones to tell you if somethings off that most sticks don't like, Alk being off, not enough flow or not enough nutrients.
