So IDK if this is the correct place to post this question.

I have a sand sifting starfish for almost 2 years now. The other week I saw when it came up to the surface I saw that he was missing a “leg”. It looks like it is doing fine and still making it's way around the tank.

Why would my start fish loss one of it's “legs”?

Any number of reasons. Attached by something (fish, crab, anemone...). Maybe it got caught when a rock shifted in the rockscape? It could have been an infection?

It should grow back in time if the star is healthy. Just look at the star I'm holding in the avatar.
