Starting ~800 Gallon Custom Reef Tank Build

I simply painted mine and sealed with polyurethane. I also lined the bottom of my stand with shower pan liner...it's saved my butt on a couple of occasions.

I was thinking about the same but I have bare concrete on the bottom which I am going to seal with marine paint as well. I will go to Lowes and see what type of marine paint they have..

Is this top coat only or I can use only this to seal the stand and concrete floor?

There is no floor drain but there is 2" drain coming out of the wall to do water changes etc. I hope I won't need floor drain lol

I want to seal the wood and metal with non toxic epoxy paint, any suggestions on what I can use to seal this with? I will be doing 2 or 3 coats of the sealer (white)

Following your build. The timber can be sealed with polyurethane. Not sure with the metal though, might be best to have it powder-coated.

too late for poweder coating now, I might use marine paint that is used on metal on boats or similar applications, I am going to stop by at Aboff's paint supply, I heard they know paint very well!!

I think there is paint that is used on marine boats for decks which is compatible with wood and metal, I am stopping by at Aboff's to find more info about the paint, in the mean time, I bought reverse osmosis system Grownix GX600 Deluxe that comes with booster pump, booster pump comes with safety pressure switch, float switch and other bells and whistles , I got great deal on this system. new one is not cheap at all, this system produces RO water with 1:1 ratio which is great and with booster pump running at 150 psi, production doubles from 600 gpd to 1200 gpd as per company explains. here are some pictures I took last night..

Trying to take care of little things that matter the most in this hobby, list of equipment, lights, power backups etc. I have learned that from watching others tanks and my own tank crash in the past.

Thank you najer, I was concerned about the weight of the tank and long Gevity of the stand so I went extra mile when it comes to strength and stability. Real test will be when tank sits on this, if any suggestions please feel free to share, still have time to add more supports or make changes.

Sump got delivered yesterday, This is Aquaculture 350 Gallon poly single mold tank. I am pretty happy with dimensions of the sump, dimensions are 68" x 68" x 18" high.

Spent some time yesterday and sealed concrete with concrete sealer, This stuff dries pretty quick, I did 5 coats until I don't see any pores anymore and it feels smooth, I filled clear silicone in all the openings on the floor so that water won't be able to go in if there is any spillage, specially under steel plates. This weekend I am going to put sump under the tank, and start adding rock and water to start cycling the rock.

I think it is a very good idea to seal the 4x4's. I personally prefer sistered 2x4's because they are much less likely to warp as they dry - if using 4x4, always seal them.

I agree, once this sealer cures for this whole week, I will slide sump under the stand with foam pad from hardware store underneath the sump.. I will post pictures once it is in place,
