Ok, i already have 2 tanks. A 65 and a 20 long. My son wants me to get him one for his room. So its only going to be a ten. My question is i use t5's on my other tanks. I wanted to try leds for this one. How many watts per gallon if i wanta keep some sofies in there. Like mushrooms or frogspown. I found a mars aqua light that is 18 inches, 9 leds, 3 watts a piece. Would that be enough? Thanks!

For ease and cool factor(timer ramping) take a look at the V1 of the Current orbit. Not great for deep tanks but perfect for little ones , built in timer and ramp, the blue is really cool too. about the same price range too. look for the one that does not have lenses on the led, thats V1. par is also very high.

I'm not too familiar with all of the LED's out there these days, but if I was going to set up a 10 gallon nano I would just go with a Kessil A160WE and put a bow on it. GL.

Hey, saltyfilmfolks, i ended up buying the marine orbit 18-24" fixture. Thanks for posting that link. Should be hear in a few days!

Let me know how you like that Current. I have one on my planted tank and I really like it. Kinda hard to beat $60 for a light like that.

60 bucs! I paid 94 for a nrand new one on ebay. Saw for 88 but the 94 was closer to me.

I clicked on that eBay link and there was one in California for 60 lol I was tempted

Oh yeah i saw that but shipping i think was crazy. Mine was 94 with free shipping. Not to bad i thought. Lol

Absolutely love the current marine orbit!!! Looks so nice! I want to buy them for my other tanks! Havent set a custom timer yet. But just set it to the 1st setting. Cant wait for this tank to cycle!

You should make a little build thread. I'm curios as to how much coral growth you'll get with that light.

Never had the black sand. Thought it would look neat with a black back ground.
