I’m going to be adding about 15 frags to my DT. Lps and SPS and need to start a dosing plan. Been reading up on it. Watched several BRS videos. My question is...due to budget I can purchase 1 dosing pump right now and pump the Alk at night on intervals and manually dose calcium (appropriate dose)in the morning.
Is there any reason to not do it this way? Or should I just manually do both at the same time until I can buy and use pumps for both?
Thanks

You can do that no problem, but if your on a budget you can get a 4 head Jebao dosing pump for very cheap. If you make sure the head rollers are on the correct way there pretty dependable.

Thanks! I’ll check that out. Was the Jaebo you are talking about on a particular site? I was just looking at BRS and the single pump was nearly $70.

You can definitely do what you were planning. You did not say how you were going to control the BRS doser or how much you think you will need to dose. The BRS doser is much more reliable then the Jeabo ones, but requires some method to turn it non and off lie a cheap timer. A cheap will be harder to dose specific amounts. The Jeabo is programmable but you can not tell it to only dose ALK at night, which I prefer to do. It will program one pump head then the next one shortly after the first one.
I have tried both and prefer to control the BRS 1-1 doser with an Aquacontroller or Apex. I can have it dose for a short time every hour or 30 minuets starting and stopping at what ever tie I want.
Aqualifter pumps can be used as very inexpensive dosing pumps when combined what the heck a timer or controller

Thanks for the response. I was looking at using the “cheap timer” option. I haven’t used the dosing calculator yet to see what would be optimal for my size set up, but need to check that out obviously.
I know this isn’t hard but because it’s unfamiliar it seems quite daunting to get it going.
