Starting A Micro Tank -- Looking For Suggestions

Hi everyone, I'm looking into starting a small micro tank just to experiment and see if I can do it. I am just wondering if anyone knows of any good products they would recommend or any tips they can give me. I am planning to add coral but only after a few months in so I will need a pump and at the moment I am thinking the hydor pico evo-mag. Also does anyone know what kind of filtering to use? Thanks in advance for sharing!

Define micro...
I did a 1G jar which thrived until vacation. Just live rock and water changes for nutrients. Heated/water movement using a heater pad and magnetic coupling motor stirrer.
