Starting a reef tank

I got this 30 gallon tank from craigslist and been keeping it running for 4 months. Now I’m going to be adding coral. So I am using this thread to show my reef tanks progress! There is currently no coral but I will be adding some soon!

It is fish only with live rock!
i have a tomato clownfish, two yellow tailed damsels and a royal gramma. Plus an urchin.

Tank hazy/cloudy due to filtration. Your filter is known as mechanical filter but you also need chemical and biological.
A hang on skimmer will help such as IceCap K1-50 or K1-100
A hang on Refugium is another option. You can however get by with regular water changes. For cloudiness, place a small pouch of ChemiPure Blue in the power filter chamber

agree with the need for more filtration - the tunze in-tank filters are also an option

I just moved around the rocks in my tank and cleaned the sand so that’s why it’s a tad cloudy !
