Starting a reef with sps

Frags.
Fun part of this hobby is explore, learn, listen, build, grow, thrive, enjoy and patience.
Good luck and keep us updated on your SPS build.

So just cut frags of my colonies if I already have colonies in my quarentine tank and start the display with frags?

I did.
Not saying you have to.
If your colonies are healthy and I assume they are than you can put them in.
I like to grow a new reef from frags and document the process.

I only have a 30 gallon deep blue rimless. 24x24x12 but might up grade one day to a 48x24x12

No biggie my friend, 24 cube is a awesome size to start, lots of top down pics.

Colonies grow faster than a small frag. If you want to do mostly frags I would suggest getting small colonies of the SPS that a very slow growers. They grow really slow when they are only one inch long.
