starting a seahorse tank. suggestions??

Here give this a read: Intro to Seahorses.
I recommend no live rock, unless you know that there are no pests that can harm a seahorse. Dry rock would be the more preferred method. You can try live rock with a hypersalinity treatment to help draw out the nasties. A seahorse tank can have corals that are not aggressive. Stay away from stinging corals such as torch, frog spawn, elegance, bubble and the like. Anthellia, star polyps, gorgians, mushrooms/rics (NOT yuma, hairy or elephant ear) zoas and similar corals are perfect. As for plants, I love red gracilaria. However, you can add pretty much any type. You just need to make sure your system can sustain them. Also, some people recommend not mixing macros since it is "possibly" can cause the algae to go asexual. Macros make perfect hitches for the horses. If you choose to not add macros, make sure to have plenty of hitches.
