Starting a SW reef tank.

Oh that dreaded GHA... Time to kill lights for a few days :(

New Skimmer and media basket should be here next Monday or Tuesday.

So I had a slight Diatom bloom then I disappeared in a mater of 2 days. Now I have GHA issues. I turned off the lights now. I was nice to look at when lights where on but oh well haha.

Opps double post can't figure out how to remove it...

Best way to get rid of green hair algae is to remove all of it you can get your hands on.
Control the amount of nutrients being added into the tank (food & light).

Check your nitrate and phosphate levels if they are high your tank is small enough you can do multiple water changes over a few day to reduce them.
You can also drain the tank and spray it with 3% hydrogen peroxide.

Bulk reef supply has a good video on algae too

Welcome to the reef! I used a Tunze 9001 in my Biocube 32. Does a great job!
That's good to know. I've done my research on them. Just wish I did it before I picked up the coralife skimmer. But hey at least it wasn't a expensive skimmer to begin with.

If you’re looking to have SPS corals, look into the Steve’s LED light upgrade. It’s fantastic!

Looks like tank is done cycling.
But can't figure out why Ammonia is at 0.25, while Nitrites is at 0, and Nitrates is at 10
