Hello Everyone! I have had several different saltwater aquariums in the last 6 years. I started with a 29g and quickly decided I wanted more. After the 29 I bought a 45g corner, about a year after that I bought a 90g rr. I began working too much and decided to take the 90 down about 3 years ago and went to a 29g biocube. I never have done anything with the biocube really except water changes here and there. The reason for this is that I really did not want to have just 2-3 fish. o_O

Anyway, that brings us to the present, a few weeks ago a friend of mine decided that she no longer had time for her 120 and that she had let the maintenance go too long. She decided instead of selling it that she would throw it away or I could come get it. Needless to say, I went and got it.:D

The equipment list she had is as follows:

120 drilled for dual 1" overflows
Stand & canopy
Mag 12 return pump
55 gallon - non-baffled sump
4 aqueon powerheads
Coral Life 4x T5 fixture

Livestock:
aprox. 100 lbs. live rock
2 - tomato clowns

I have replaced the following of the original equipment list:

Mag 12 return pump - was worn out replaced with a used Mag 12
55 gallon - non-baffled sump - Currently running a 29g sump I had (the 55 was leaky)
4 aqueon powerheads - replaced with 2 MP40wES (one I had and another I picked up used)
Coral Life 4x T5 fixture - replaced with a Current USA Nova Extreme Pro 6 x T5 (I already had)

I also added a reefkeeper lite that I had from my previous system.

I am not sure what my livestock list will look like at this point so that will be forthcoming in the near future...

Here are a few pictures of the setup now (sorry I did not take any before the teardown or while setting up:eek:).

Wow! What a find!!!! Looks good to me. I've got to find a new set of friends. :p

Does anyone have any suggestions on whether I should go with a 40b or 55g for the sump? I know more volume is better, but I kind of like have a little extra room in the stand.

I have decided to go with the 55 for a sump. I would like to drill it so that I can drain enough water from it to do my water changes. Does anyone have suggestions on a design for the baffles that would allow this?

I don't mind drilling more than one hole if needed. It would just make it easier to have the water go directly out the floor drain instead of always having to siphon it out.
